It's a great marketplace, don't get me wrong, I love selling and purchasing on it, but it needs much better moderation. Low quality submissions kill discoverability. Selling ebooks that you can get for free from Anna's Archive should get your account banned immediately. There needs to be a very, very long list of banned low quality listings that should get your account banned immediately. There should be no tolerance for it. It's like a cancer. You can't let it spread.

Page 2 of 5 - 41 total@beer There’s a lot of useless stuff there. A bunch of people are selling tacky things nobody wants for over prices.
@ancap_objectivist amazon has pretty much a monopoly, therefore the experience isn't decisive for growth anymore
They need to expire listings to remove the junk. If something is not sold is 30 days, for example, it goes away completely. The junk compounds over time. A handful of reliable vendors is infinitely better than thousands of ones created and abandoned.
I like this approach. I like Xmrbazaar because it offer real functionality and it even got moderator and there already alot of seller establish themselves as trustworthy. It's unfortunate how it filled with spam most of the time now. It really need to clean up the spam and maybe actively feature seller that perform well and well trusted in the website

@monerica Maybe they need some moderation I've seen a couple things like drugs and such... But lets not through the baby out with the bathwater either! It always seems to happen when you censor there's tendancy to way overcensor surveillance starts off with banks and then ends up requiring KYC to now even boot up your computer... The problem is where do you draw the line?? Like for example on Xmrbazaar I provide a service where I create and sell anonymous social media, emails etc accounts for customers (I create all my accounts I don't do anything illegal) and provide help/assistance when asked regarding getting around big tech algorithyms/detection, surveillance/banning to maintaine some kind of pseudonymity there. If unfortunately you have to use it... Now that is grey area and I accept that (I'm not breaking laws but I'm breaking EULAs and maybe TOS) I don't do anything illegal though yet if you apply this broadly people will just go "everyone selling accounts and providing services we can't verify definitively are all 100% kosher = banned" and that's not fair either...
@sepia I don't mind, but I'm a legitimate seller yet I feel like this would all end up affecting me like I provide a genuine sougth after service where I create and sell anonymous social media accounts, emails, OTP anonymous verifications and anonymity/privacy for all online things in general (including VPN access etc). Yet I feel like some people by what they are saying here would classify what I do as too dark grey and paint me with the same brush as the people you are all railing against... I don't like drug dealers either or dark criminals but then it ends up affecting people who aren't committing crimes and are just providing a service that maybe breaks big tech rules/policies/eulas not actual laws. Like this is what worries me!
@sepia It's also important to have reliable expectations for shipping. XMRBazaar does not even consider this at all. One of the reasons a site like Amazon dominates Ecommerce is that a person knows when they will get what they order with a high degree of certainty. One of the reasons that's possible is that orders are fulfilled by Amazon, so that's not going to work here.
What's needed is reliability. If someone wants to buy food or a t-shirt, it cannot arrive in 3-6 weeks. It's far more logical to just buy an Amazon gift card with XMR and have something delivered in 24 hours. So, holding merchants accountable with shipping is a huge problem to solve. Why would anyone buy something if they don't know when they will get it? That part needs to be formalized.
It's easy to make a Monero marketplace, it's very difficult to do it in a way people can rely on and trust. Vendor reputation, and reviews, are extremely important. The biggest problem with Monero adoption is not really the technology, it's trusting the person on the other side of the screen to do what they say.

@anonchan I don't think your service is considered a spam, people need the service so it is valuable. But i've seen people try to sell a nsfw comic that you can easily read for free anywhere else or a pics of their feet (i forgot if he/she even provide a sample picture). It kinda burying other legit seller that want to do business like you and me

@monerica Isn't that arrival time is handled by the shipping company? The seller can give the tracking code to the customer that they can verify themselves. Unless they use another mean of shipping. At least that is how it being conducted in my country

@sepia Shipping can be done by Amazon through their warehouse or by the company. But the overwhelming majority of items that are shipped with Prime are from an Amazon warehouse. This is how they can deliver in hours.
