moonboy bitcoin

I've been waiting for some time now and I think its finally time to start buying crypto.

Lots of people say 'DCA' but that just makes no sense to me in the slightest; its a conservative pretense and fake humbleness that comes from a shallow understanding of diversification.

On the contrary today is the day to fill your bags. Just look at the markets: they've fallen so hard over the past few months but now volatility is subsiding. These are clear indicators of reduced structural risk.

Obviously the entire crypto market is always high risk.
Obviously nobody knows where the bottom is.
Obviously most projects will not survive the next cycle.

But today is the day to increase your crypto allocation. This is my 2cent

I agree with you that its not 'the money of the people'. How could there be such a thing? There is simply too much money in the world for any money to be anything other than abject evil. There can be no idealism at this table, only man fighting to breath in a system which has a quota to suffocate.

Your point about mining rewards is pressing. But bitcoin can survive by adding a tail emission. Its a controversial expectation, sure, but I can't see it going any other way. Hodlers certainly have a security bill to pay.

The path of the wallet-anon is difficult and obscure, but what matters is that it exists. That alone changes the face of the money game.

i agree, tail emission would solve so much of the bitcoin issue there
which, an early contributor that is thought to be satoshi natamoto as per the HBO documentary thing from 2024: https://imdb.com/title/tt33600145/
even mentioned that on their blog:
https://petertodd.org/2022/surprisingly-tail-emission-is-not-inflationary

Could Bitcoin Add Tail Emission?

…and why could Monero?

Adding tail emission to Bitcoin would be a hard fork: a incompatible rule change that existing Bitcoin nodes would reject as invalid.

While Monero was able to get sufficiently broad consensus in the community to implement tail emission, it’s unclear at best if it would ever be possible to achieve that for the much larger Bitcoin.

Additionally, Monero has a culture of frequent hard forks that simply does not exist in Bitcoin.

so... idk, i dont see it happening with bitcoin, since alot of the "controversial changes" been politically motivated, adding the tail emission would probably be too controversial for the bitcoin moonboy crowd nowadays
scarcity no tail emission = numbers go up to the moon....

Ultimately, its the miners who have a vote, and they will vote for whatever protocol pays their bills. The market has no choice but to follow the hash, because if it fails to do so then its ledger is insecure. The opinion of speculators is really of no importance whatsoever; even though its such a fashionable excuse for all these misbehaving markets.

'The arc of circling bodies is determined by the length of their tether, said the judge. Moons, coins, men.'

I'm really thinking of quitting my bank altogether. I just quit my job and intend to earn money freelancing. Why should I accept fiat? Why not just live off cash by mail? Its not like I need much of the damn stuff anyway. Even if cash gets banned there'll always be some beer money: silver, bottle tops, religious artefacts, random rare shit.

Btw, are you a game dev? I am also a game dev; I'm looking for some help with the art in this game: evoverse.onrender.com (desktop only, don't use addblock because it blocks 'hawk.png' for some reason; there are no ads)

Btw, are you a game dev?

i mean, not really lol, doing some research about it tho

I'm looking for some help with the art in this game

for art so far tried getting assets directly from these:
https://www.kenney.nl/assets
https://sketchfab.com/3d-models?date=week&features=downloadable&sort_by=-likeCount
https://quaternius.com/
https://opengameart.org/

and lately:
https://www.mixamo.com/#/?page=1&type=Character

but because these 2 reasons:

  • i broke
  • proof of concepts made so far havent been to a state could comissions art yet anyways

but also had in the ideas to maybe eventually see if @avarice would be down to do some commissions maybe some day lol, idk, we not there yet anyways
(also cool stream rn btw O_O)

@Nebuchadnezzar_II
if looking to comission someone in the community for their art and have feedback about maybe art decisions or something, you may want to look at:
https://monero.forum/thread/den-artsy-chaos

(desktop only, don't use addblock because it blocks 'hawk.png' for some reason; there are no ads)

lol yup it does:

:P

I'm really thinking of quitting my bank altogether. I just quit my job and intend to earn money freelancing. Why should I accept fiat? Why not just live off cash by mail? Its not like I need much of the damn stuff anyway

same, well did quit the bank thing for a long time now
local freelancing been working
online freelancing been waiting on the monero ecosystem to grow more, it's been slow on that end tho lol
but yea ideally, the ecosystem gets better on that so more people could actually live off of monero / cash or whatever rather than being forced to rely on the legacy systems in place

edit:
@avarice

(If anyone knows of other popular clearnet marketplaces with actual sales happening, please slap me here, maybe I'm just not looking right)

CH7CM8v

damn, idk why is not converting the gif but is that one lol:
https://imgur.com/CH7CM8v.gif

anyways, videogamers been having a clearnet marketplace since 2001:
https://d2jsp.org/

as mentioned in that thread:
https://monero.forum/thread/mvp-launch-monero-jobs?page=5#reply-2514

which since you also suggested on the xmrmatters thread "escrows", they're called "trade mediators" over there

@GamingResearchLab
Ty for the mentions and ty for checking out my stream <33

I should post more art to that thred, been feeling lazy these days, but I have some cats I can post to it xD

And replying to some thread topics:
My first joke reply would be, 'crypto buying day? I think you mean monero buying day'

Idk, I guess it's still mind boggling to me how so many cryptos exist, but can anyone point me to a coin with as much humanity as xmr? Why the fuck is xmrbazaar the only clearnet market I know of with actual movement xD (If anyone knows of other popular clearnet marketplaces with actual sales happening, please slap me here, maybe I'm just not looking right)

As for quitting banks:
I like to be diversified. I'd never keep all my stuff in one asset, one location, one currency, etc. I think you have a lot of fire in you to decide on freelancing as your mode of income- def wishing you the best there.

Depending on your exact field, people may be more willing to pay via certain methods (btw, try listing yourself on monerica and https://agorist.market/ ) , but by limiting your means of accepting payment, you may be leaving some opportunities at the table.

Though personally I hate having to deal with the monopolies that govern accepting payment online (stripe, paypal. Everything is usually just a different stripe or PayPal wrapper), they're tools that are at your disposal. And you can use earnings to get more of the assets you actually want.
Just make sure to never rely on them solely, always be ready for shut downs...

I'm too tired to be coherent, sorry if I made no dense~
Also I tried opening the game on my phone because I'm dumb and didn't read the instructions xD
Guessing it's a hungry shark type game? Trying to survive long as the fish by eating?

@avarice
Hi Averice, thankyou for replying to my thread.

In the end I bought all sorts of cryptos but no xmr. Some of them I'm not so sure about but I think its good to keep a wide interest in this space. Its mind bogling to me just how much there is going on out there and even though its risky I like to play the game. I agree with you wholeheartedly that xmr is the money with the most humanity, we might be the only money that can support the freedom of man going into this brave new world of lithium and silicon.

Thankyou for your well wishes. In reality, I am stressed about the decision but I know for sure that its true to myself and the right thing to do. Quitting banking would be another stress, but I know my own situation and believe that its possible and within reach and I am inspired to try. I agree with you that they are a tool that is sometimes worth the compromise, but at the same time I think the more we rely on these things the less chance we get to develop independent connections and networks before it too late and the gate slams shut. Paper cash is also just as good to me.

Thankyou for looking at the game! Hopefully it will be finished, with mobile support and an active community before the end of the year. That would be my dream goal. You play as a bird or flying creature and have to survive and evolve by avoiding predicators and hunting food. There's a big wide world with lots of different biomes to explore. I'm sorry for not reaching out to you sooner actually, because I need an artist to help curate the art for this game. Its not really my interest to put a lot of time into the art but I think it could be a fun and profitable project for someone else.

You remind me of when I started my 'adult investing portfolio'
I bought a ton of random stocks because I had asked chatgpt for advice, man I have a mini panic attack when I look at it now.

Having a ton of different crypto gives me the same feeling-
To me, crypto is not about having a bunch of different ones, but having ones that I would actually use and believe in. It's unfortunate that you didn't get any xmr, but I hope you didn't get any 'hyped' coins that are all about 'going to the moon' etc etc.

Other than xmr, the only thing I wanna buy is physical precious metals, but I'm waiting until I reach a personal milestone so I can reward myself...

I think it's interesting how you can focus on the gameplay / mechanics while delegating the art- in my brain, I have a really hard time putting something together when I can't solidify all the different elements. I have an idea for a story, but I keep getting stuck because I don't know how to do x y or z, I can't draw the characters the way I imagine them, etc.
I guess when in doubt, look up Toby Fox, solo maker of Undertale. From art, to music, to gameplay, all one dude. If you're unsure about whether you wanna commit cash to having someone else make the art, just find your own 'good enough' style and have at it

@avarice
I have no fear because my portfolio is actually diversified and the amount in 'random cryptos' could all blow up and I'd not have any regrets. On the contrary, it is important to maintain a wide interest or else submit to self inflicted ignorance; something all this crypto tribalism fails to account for! There really is nobody in the world who can draw a safe boundary around the extent of opportunity. I bought the least hyped coins which appear dead to the casual observer. Monero is dope but it doesn't have to be an investment.

Outside of crypto the one thing I'd love to own is permaculture infrastructure. Like woodland, seeds, offgrid systems, community spaces, hippie shit, so that man can live in peace, natural, free, sustainable and cheap. Even without investing cash one can take ownership by taking part! Sorry for the random aside, but this is surely the best investment anyone could make at this pivotal moment in history.

For most of the development I was really focused on just making progress, getting to the next point and solving technical problems. This is my first time working with a lot of tech in the game so really that was a big part of my mindshare. I learned a lot! The current art is pretty good imo. I like the look and feel of the game. I know I can do it all on my own but I also know that isn't the best way. I am very much looking forward to building a bit of a player base because then the game will come to life. Really the life of my game is not about the graphics and more about how risk, reward, predation and exploration shape the player experience and create unique human stories for every player.

@GamingResearchLab Never heard of this - thanks for sharing. Just wondering: Why not use Bisq v1 directly though? They natively support XMR. #helpfull
