so after reading through the channel, thought had a question so went back to this thread but guess the question been answered already:

The current question is what pngtuber software to make it for (or whether to just do a set of 4 images that can be used anywhere)

cause like, i literally have no clue about the whole vtuber thing, what software is being used about that or what, but i really liked the art and thought "damn... if could actually comission some of that for like... characters spritesheets and whatnot, that could for example be used for like a proof of concept thing with rpg-js (cause rpg maker do actually have license thing if wanna be doing a bigger project thing eventually... so wouldnt be able to use none of that...)
and i would hate to actually have to relearn blender if doing a thingy in 3d and even then, am not even that good to have like, assets with similar styles for a coherant world building type thing, which would also be an issue if using assets from different artists and whatnot
and if 2d instead, with like rpg-js it could also even directly be something in the terminal too with notcurses instead too, which could be pretty cool too, idk, am still all over the place on the ideas and trying to figure out which way to even go on all of that, still researching the possibilities and whatnot for now i guess...
not much help from the community on that i guess, like, bunch of people that are literally out here literally building games for themselves but they not even giving feedback or what, that sucks, literally at this point they can go fuck themselves, loosing so much time on researching all of that while am literally clueless and they could be like "oh this and that or that is not the way cause this and that" but nah... they out here waiting for someone to hire them for i dont even know what building whatever corporate slop is coming their way through monero.jobs or whatever... while they literally have the skills to even just give some feedback on things... that's dumb...

but yea pretty much, despite not being a furry or what (just a cat lol), a furry game thing could actually be pretty cool imo, i mean, yea monerochan and this and that but like, the whole channel thing is mostly furry things so assuming is where your comfort zone is at regarding drawing these and they really good, some even animated, like, literally scrolling through the channel, literally got me to visualize like a whole game thing with furry characters as the main playable characters and idk, some cool stuff could be made tbh

so at this point in time, i literally fully broke, but if someday somehow i rich enough to afford to buy an AC, then would still rather start comissioning you on some of that, and also:

Complexity: If you have many requirements, if the character has outfits, wings, complex patterns, etc

It's interesting my art could have inspired some kind of game concept in your mind- but yeah I'm a very lazy artist so drawing complex stuff wears me out xD
I wanna learn blender too- but my main use case would be making 3D vtuber models or VR Chat avatars. Both types require optimized models similar to game models though. If you ever wanna earn money, I recommend those skills, though you'd need to be able to market your skills and that's where I fail miserably.

Yeah having a coherent style when it comes to games made with bought assets is a def issue, I guess that's why selling big asset packs that are already coherent is/was popular. These days I wonder if someone could use ai in that realm. I know there are some gen models that can make 3d models from images too. I don't have any motivation to use ai in my normal art, but I would be curious about using that to make 3d models from art. The risk is that it makes something that seems okay but is hard to fix and turn into a usable model lel

When it comes to vtuber stuff, you can just think of it as 'a way to symbolize a person without using a facecam' , so it could be used in videos/video podcasts/ interviews, or even during video calls via virtual cameras.
I'm not sure there is enough overlap between people who like spending monero and people who like using models to justify this, but I don't really have much else to work on shrug

i mean for asset packs yea that's what been looking at mostly tbh, like kenney asset packs, quaternius asset packs and there would be ways to have coherence there, with these tho i been mostly stuck on the software side, ill get unstuck eventually lol, however long it'll take x)
well, for 3d at least, on the 2d packs the styles are too specific and mismatching would be an issue if scaling and whatnot

so drawing complex stuff wears me out xD

pretty sure there's some AI assisted tools that could be helping on that, like, taking a character from a perspective and having it rotate to have it in a different camera position type thing, i literally only got the text LLMs to work, but nothing for artwork concepts, tried a few but they were too complex with a whole UI and i dont understand these lol
i literally just too retarded lol, but if was able to use these the same way as the text ones with like "that thing.jpg is this, can do this on a new thing2.jpg?" then yea would be lifechanger for me on that lol

i mean, are you streaming? on my channel last year with literally just 2 streams i was about to get more twitch followers than the whole "monerotalk" twitch channel (which i just ended up nuking the channel completely lol), i mean, they dont have that many followers in the first place so the competition on that so is not that high numbers there anyways

back in my days we wasnt using the cameras or even mic on that while streaming (mic on mumble / teamspeak and whatnot with teamates) but gaming on stream back then was mostly banger gameplay with banger music for alot of people
and nowadays i just hate hearing people talk instead of them just having banger gameplay and banger music just jamming it like damn menaces on the games and whatnot lol
and literally even my gaming videos had soooo much views just with that, banger gameplay and banger musics (like tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of views back in late 2000s, early 2010s), which am not even exaggerating on that, like actually legit

but yeah nowadays is just a popular thing to be like closer to the viewers by interacting with them directly
and vtubing allows to that while keeping some privacy against the creeps, similar to monero does on other aspects as well, there is definitely an overlap on that
and like, even emiru that dealt with creeps even at twitchcon, she was sharing the perspective of some of the vtubers on that too, like, legit hot chicks doing the vtubing u know, but just dont wanna deal with the whole extra weird internet people cause they're definitely a thing... which is also where twitch failed them on that at twitchcon too...

Yeah I've been streaming for nearly 5 years now, no growth. I'm not very interesting and I just draw and watch videos and sing and such. It's really depressing sometimes and every month I'm on the verge of calling it quits, but no one watches whether I quit or not so I might as well just get on xD

and literally even my gaming videos had soooo much views just with that, banger gameplay and banger musics (like tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of views back in late 2000s, early 2010s), which am not even exaggerating on that, like actually legit

Back then seems like a cool time for being online. Making stuff, having fun, meeting people, and people seeing what you make xD

there's an overall growing interest regarding privacy spaces and whatnot, a general understanding on why vtubers be doing the vtuber thing, so there definitely is an audience there
i not saying doing the marketing thing or whatever, but just having a page on these and who knows... if eventually some big streamers or whatever coming into the space, then you would be the go to for that, cause like, who else even making vtubers models out here in moneroland lol
just saying, that's your unique selling point right here and seems like you wouldnt be having competition on that at least for now

i mean, kinda but also kinda not... grew my personal business type thing like that at the time, frens from mmos and mobas that i was playing on their accounts then met too, had great experiences with many but also really bad experiences with some others... was a more carefree type of time for sure, but nowadays just pushing everyone away cause of those bad experiences i guess, so even for a business perspective type thing, i just keep shooting myself in the foot on that, and receiving dms literally make my skin crawl nowadays so i instantly shut these down even if the sender dont have any bad intention or what
(so also i guess cheers to the service that sent me a dm couple days ago after leaving a bad review thing... to which i had to explain i literally dont do dms lol)

so yea again, you dont have to be like me on that lol, you still have your socials, so i guess you at least keeping open the possibilities of growth there, and monero ecosystem and every individual projects out here could just be a door for your to consider as well, even if at first glance you might not see yourself using those or what, to some extent, pretty sure you're literally the target audience for these...

@avarice have you done any digging around FOSS vtuber software? I looked into it a while ago but didn't get too far.

I haven't done much digging. The programs I use are all free (cept veadotube full), but made by single people or very small teams. Some have github pages where anyone can open issues and do PRs, but I dunno if they're considered Open Source

Inochi2d is a live2d alternative that I believe might be FOSS (most of the pngtuber programs are free, but few live2d style creation programs are), main draw being Linux compatability, but I've yet to use it. Could be a good option for making a monerochanish themed model, and a good excuse to learn it (but I'd have to feel like anyone cared lmao)

There's also the world of 3D vtubing, which I know even less about.
