I think I can speak for all of us here when I say that the Zcash pump that is currently happening, a sequel to last year, is nothing short of absurd. Today, the price rose 20%. Zcash is also up 140% on the month, and 2500% for the year. But how somebody can look at the price chart and not see blatant manipulation is beyond me. For example, Zcash had only 3700 transactions yesterday, many of which were block rewards or unshielded. Nobody uses this project. But with their VC backing and Silicon Valley connections, they are apparently not going away any time soon.
The good news, though, is that this is actually having an extremely beneficial impact on Monero's performance. The positive attention towards privacy will likely benefit Monero more than any other project. Our chart looks healthy and organic. The only thing annoying me is our mining hash rate is not at an all time high, which is puzzling, and our transaction totals seem to have hit a wall at 30,000. I do expect a doubling in price to help those things out though. What do you think?

Literally every person who buys Monero is at least a bit more advanced than the average people who buy ZCash or Bitcoin because it's not as easy to buy.

It would be interesting to see what percentage of Monero is held in self-custody compared to Bitcoin or ZCash but I assume it's not possible unless the all the CEXs said what they have.
