As far as I know there are already:

  1. E-commerce market = XMRBazaar
  2. Freelance market = monero.jobs
  3. Donation and Stream = Xmrchat

But i still didn't see a subscription service that can become alternative to Patreon. What make Patreon interesting is that you can make a tiered service for your supporter and plus you can give exclusive content that only the member can access. Does anyone know such service exist within the Monero community?

UPDATE:
Because there is few information available on the service with such concept thus born XMRStars, a membership platform for people that want to monetize their content made by @nolan.

@sepia nice work so far.

I do like the name OpenFans, and I've read @nolan 's intention of wanting to make the platform more generalized and not necessarily Monero focused. I'd still like to see Monero at least featured on things like the logo/banner/homepage somehow, just for visibility and mindshare. My first thought was to inclide the Monero M logo into one of the letters, but sadly OpenFans doesn't have an M in it, lol. You can clearly tell I don't know shit about design and marketing, but this is just my bit of feedback so far.

@nolan What about 'MyNymBox'? I read their term of service and looks like they're okay with whatever hosted as long as there is no CSAM and illegal content. Just common sense stuff basically. But I think it's better to notify them first about what gonna be hosted.

@H1XMR Because of the nature of the website I try to communicate that it focuses for people that want platform to share their valuable content although Monero is the backbone of the platform to operate. But I also share the same sentiment, that is why i try to use orange color on the title to let it more nuanced so to speak. But maybe it's best to put Monero logo on the payment section. That's what most services do that accept Monero such as Mullvad or hosting services. Sorry for the late reply, I was typing this before but my place experience sudden blackout.

Maybe completely wrong, but slowbeardigger mentioned something about working on a Patreon alternative I think

@sepia thank you for update, its looks awesome dude, if you not gonna update more I can update the banner now :)

MyNymBox right now is a mess. Last time when I try to purchase domain name, they thought I am a scammers/spammers or something, they cancelled my order etc. I moved to Incognet (fyi they do same things for new customers) just because I'm already customer there, they approved my order. There are couple options for us on server, which I researched last week:

  • Kamatera (pros: cheap, cons: no monero)
  • shinjiru (pros: accepts bitcoin, eth. prices not bad. cons: no monero )
  • flokinet.is (pros: accepts monero, prices good, we can host adult content)
  • Ko-Net (pros: accepts monero, prices good. cons: network port is limited, 250 Mbit/s Port ) they are also in this forum @Kodomu <3

I will research again but so far flokinet and ko-net is positive for me.

@nthpyrodev i lookup a bit but couldn't find any info about that, i believe he is focusing on goxmr project.
while researching I found this post in reddit, 5 years ago :) https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/kr83ku/idea_patreon_alternative_that_accepts_monero_and/

Updates on Project: Sorry for late response here, I am still working as much as I can, last weekend I completed:

  • Invite based creator account creation, without invite code you cannot be creator. This feature will help moderation's tasks and reduce spam accounts in the platform.
  • I planned the onboarding progress for creators, adding my notes about
  • Almost done with Creator's Create Page
  • Navbar changed a bit.
  • Dark/Light mode, but this thing needs JavaScript which still looking a way to escape from it :)
  • Updated the moderator side a bit

BTW, email is not required on every create account page, only need for password reset actions.

Thank you all the supports and feedbacks.

PS: I will be in Bangkok this mid June, if anyone wanna drink some tea, feel free to reach me out <3

@nolan Understood. I'll share the download link like usual.

I see, they're really cautious about incoming customer huh. They must have fair share of problem because of their no-kyc policy. Btw awesome work with the progress Nolan, that was pretty fast progress. I like that you added the dark theme, easier on the eyes
