I've been thinking about financial freedom for a while, and I realized that most of the time we reduce it to how much money someone has.
Enough money to quit your job. Enough savings to handle an emergency. No debt. Own your house. Whatever.
What if you have all of that and someone else can still decide whether you're allowed to use your money?
What if they can see where it came from, where it goes, who you send it to, and build a pretty detailed picture of your life from that information?
At that point, how much financial freedom do you actually have?
In this article, I get into financial privacy, centralized financial systems, self-governance, and why I think Monero is interesting in this context.
I also get into how Monero actually provides privacy at the protocol level rather than simply asking you to trust some company to keep your financial information private.
And no, the conclusion isn't "buy Monero and you're financially free." That's not how I see it. The point is having options.
Anyway, here's the full article:
What Does Financial Freedom Consist of and How Can Monero Help?
I'd be interested in hearing what you guys think.
