libre javascript

For me, my interest in magic internet coins is actually downhill from the larger umbrella of libre software in general. There is libre money, libre operating systems, libre firmware, even libre JavaScript (shoutout to librejs toolbar).

Since my interest in magic coins is in this context and through these lenses, I've often become frustrated at other magic coins' ability to operate without enabling some sort of non-libre software.

With Monero, I, as a non-developer layperson, can: get a node, get a wallet, mine, swap into, and buy gift cards all without ever even enabling javascript or leaving tor.

To date, I haven't seen this level of based-ness with any other coin. I do worry that this will become less true over time. So lets please continue to remember that the Libre ethos is of the utmost importance!

Even this site for example, I'm on tor running no java-script! Perhaps the developers of the site could consider getting the necessary JS for tipping and chatting greenlighted by the Librejs toolbar? (fingers crossed) https://www.gnu.org/software/librejs/

To this point, I also suggest reading the article " The JavaScript Trap" by Richard Stallman.
