@Nebuchadnezzar_II was listening to a podcast earlier with the guy who did that moketchups site and had all the rest on hand, so figured I'd drop all here. Also, came across some guy on here that seemed a bit sus recently, so that was part of it as well. The ultimate war is for our minds (and souls), so best to be 'armed' for it. And thanks for the book suggestion. I know that situation is bad, but I'm sure it is far worse than I can begin to imagine

The online discussion of crypto is so censored its insane. I think they really want to suppres understanding/ promote ignorance as much as possible. Crypto is a democratic (open source) weapon, but its only a weapon if you understand it: otherwise its a major liability.

They'll never make it past admin though; this is a solid forum.

@Nebuchadnezzar_II and where it isn't censored, its likely guided from behind the scenes. I'm nostr a lot, and as I'm sure you may have heard, it's quite bitcoin-centric ( to the point of annoyance at times). There are some posts about it I have a hard time believing are actual people, especially the ones that are openly combative towards anyone who doesn't essentially worship bitcoin. I don't use twatter or FB, so I have no opinion on those, but being they are algorithmically driven, I can only imaginme what gets boosted and what gets suppressed

I used to use reddit and obviously that's just completely under control. I got banned from r/bitcoin and r/boggleheads just for mentioning eth. Fucking ostriches.

I use deepseek a lot for crypto questions, which is interesting because it starts off by just pulling a bunch of articles and summarizing them at face value. Consequently, it always leads with very weak narratives. For example, apparently memecoins are driven by hype and social momentum and have nothing to do with money laundering. Luckily with deepseek after a few prompts you can 'open' its mind where it starts to think critically about things. But even then its just an echo chamber with research tools. Not enlightening unless you know what to ask for.

In general I think the bitcoin cult are smarter than they're given credit for. I mean dca bitcoin + hodl is pretty good advice for a beginner. Other than that they just spam the same ideas all the time and burry their head on other things.

@Nebuchadnezzar_II I don't doubt the intelligence of bitcoiners. But the maxis are just insufferable and often a bunch of liars. Its a standard claim among some that btc is more private than xmr. Well, that's just provably false. They tend to equate having a full knowledge of all the layers needed to make bitcoin private, and implementing them, with default privacy. And think the average person can and will do the same. Its an attitude of 'it can be done, so you have no excuse not to'. Ok tell that to an 80 yr old who only knows how to check email.

As for what you can get out a LLM, never use em so I wouldn't know. But I would assume unless one knows how to finesse them, you get the standard mainstream answers.
