A particular town in the region called Prien am Chiemsee, Bavaria, Germany has something unique going on with their economy. Apparently they use other money beside Euro as the local legal tender. This money is called "Chiemgauer"
Started as a "play" money to teach highschool student on how economy works, it rapidly grow into something that being accepted by the local merchant. You can buy food, drink and other neccessities just like how you use fiat money. What so special about this is that everyone on that town agree that Chiemgauer is money so it become real money that can be use and spent. Thus merchant also can accept it because they can buy their business supply using Chiemgauer.
What keeping this local money legal and allowed to use in the country is that Chiemgauer is only allowed to be spent on this particular town only and not anywhere else.
Since its inception, now Chiemgauer has helped local business to thrive and support the local economy.
Now imagine that there also something similar but with Monero instead. A like-minded people who gather to form a small community and agree to trade with each other using Monero. The merchant accept Monero because they know that they can buy their supply also with Monero. People use Monero also because they know that everywhere they go, Monero will be accepted for good and service.
I'm sure everyone already know it and it as been the ultimate goal of Monero adoption. It just that this small town has given us a glimpse that the concept could work when everyone agree
