monero untraceable confidential

the "prequel" was this one https://monero.forum/thread/ledger-hacker-used-shielded-zcash-traced (post from xenu)

then we had this wild "burning" reply on twit https://goyimx.com/YFarmX/status/2108918564015006200
posted by "YFarmX", bio said "Daily intelligence on AI, Crypto, Quantum and Space.
Post hack analysis šŸ”Ž AI benchmarking šŸ“Š"

no.... i not talking about the BIO. rather i talking about the reply inside it,
they said

then

Screenshot 2026-10-14 075846

dunno why "crypto-ai news" had this confidence to say they can track anything that the commenter said. even though they can't even track it. maybe they just want to sell their apps so thats why they said "our proprietary tooling uses advanced forensics to find the fingerprints those entries and exits leave" xD

in the end. Monero is safe, no one can trace you
if someone said monero can be tracked, then maybe they just want to sell "forensics app" so you better buy it or leave monero community 😁

@UsualCat
Your argument is that you can't trace someone who has good opsec, which is hard to dispute.
But my argument is that you can trace someone who has bad opsec, which is also indisputable.

Ultimately, people behave according to their own perceived sense of threat. And even smart actors make mistakes.

Another problem you'd have to think about:

Swapping to Monero.
How would you actually do that with a big lump of stolen funds?

Obviously not cex.

But non-kyc swap services still have the problem of being temporarily custodial (even though the interface might hide that fact). Importantly, they are not permissionless and also carry the risk of shotgun kyc. Nobody can eliminate that risk... (not thorchain, not waygu beef, not near intents, not chainflip...)

UNLESS you use atomic swaps.

Haveno:
Unpopular opinion but I don't trust haveno at all:

  • It ships with its own monerod rather than letting you bring your own which is less secure because you have to trust their monerod build. So an attacker could try to control your node.
  • It doesn't support 2/2 multisig which is safer (despite popular opinion) because you retain a veto on your own coins rather than 2/3 where you only retain a 33% vote. We should all remember the consequences of this in the recent hack.
  • It does not support airgapped transaction signing. In order to use haveno at some point your funds have to be controlled by a key phrase stored on an internet connected device. A hot wallet. You can avoid this problem by structuring the transaction but it remains a risk and a poor security standard.

So you could skip haveno and arrange the transaction privately over darknet forums. Execute a 2/2 atomic swap from an air gapped wallet. Now that's a reliable swap but the new problem is that you're swimming in an entirely different liquidity pool and should be prepared to pay the price for that.

I think that if something like thorchain actually worked with monero, then that would be the most revolutionary thing that could happen in this space. But I don't believe it will ever be achieved without using some version of private proof of stake; so thorchain will never be suitable in its current state.

"So you could skip haveno and arrange the transaction privately over darknet forums. Execute a 2/2 atomic swap from an air gapped wallet."

wtf are you even on about LMAO
like u think people on haveno trading fiat currencies (like dollar / euro) are using atomic swaps dollars? LOL

like, as a reminder for newcomers, haveno is for fiat trades, if u wanna gamble on the market exchanging shitcoins for shitcoins, haveno is not meant for that but for literal fiat <-> monero

and ofc, "atomic swap" for fiat trades are not a thing, literal cryptobro cringe stg

there's all those other things for the cringe ass cryptocoin traders tho, which, apparently according to @Nebuchadnezzar_II trading shitcoins for shitcoins is "revolutionary"

"I think that if something like thorchain actually worked with monero, then that would be the most revolutionary thing that could happen in this space."

yea, am out, the cryptobros cringe too stronk, i just cant

@Nebuchadnezzar_II

How would you actually do that with a big lump of stolen funds?

isnt i already mention it? we split it, its easy to automate it if you can code or even clanker can do the job.
just need one automated C or just python to make it split on smaller ones, send to anything that more liquid, or just dump on haveno, bisq, or other p2p

also if its me, i already moving alot of fund from people back then for russian guy for some scripting project and chinese ones, since crypto to his own currency somehow "had risk" to get ban
so the way is i tunnel it to my "official store" (its registered legally)
then send to chinese man as "international transfer" its easier and simpler. for russian guy just dump it on another coin. and its done. mostly we do USDT but if we send some random ones to russian entity people said it can get freeze, so we just tunnel it on monero once before it landed to their crypto wallet (i wont tell which coin)

and for

It doesn't support 2/2 multisig which is safer (despite popular opinion) because you retain a veto on your own coins rather than 2/3 where you only retain a 33% vote. We should all remember the consequences of this in the recent hack.

welp i rather trust 2/3 vote to accept which 1/3 was me, 1/3 was buyer, 1/3 was the mediator
instead just 2/2
imagine if people come to disagreement over something
where the target was complete 2/2 vote
we will not go anywhere.

thats why something like xmrbazzar good. i now "had alot of friend" from my buyer, and some of mediator on there. so i not afraid at all if i just had 1/3 vote power
i mean look. mediator not just random guy online, they hired from trusted ones, for sure if i level 12 on monero forum, their mediator maybe need lv 50 or more. something like that.

the only system i agree had 2/2 vote to accept was irl biz. like i owning some project. its co-own with my good friend. the vote should be I yes he yes to get approval. if i said no, he said yes, the vote become no since its 1/2 with 2/2 target

thats what escrow/mediator/middleman does. instead the vote become 2 just by buyer and seller, its become 3, buyer-mediator-seller.
why?
welp.... you can already guess.

if no mediator.
then we going full "NUDE P2P"
which is "had risk"
imagine if you sending something, then the buyer reject it, then stall the transaction. it will be wild for sure. not all people had time to wait it reverse with expired logic
