After a bit of drama this past week there was an emergency meeting held to determine the future of Monerokon. After some debate, a vote was held and the results are as follows: communuty member ceetee will be the new holder of Monero socials, with community member stnby as a backup, and Monerokon 2027 will be managed by Orangefren.
I'm pretty happy with these results. I didn't attend Monerokon this year but I heard the organization was great considering the time constraints. Also, they were able to get all of the presentations uploaded on youtube very quickly... Past presentations took months to get released. My only complaint is that some of the presentations were weak this year (e.g. Liberland, Super testnet) but with more time for next year I think this will be improved. I really hope I can attend next year. What do you guys think?

or like, charlie kirk style, literally israel psyop or somethin, which those monerokon seems to be happening closer to israel than to the americas, either way, monerokon has more adversaries than twitchcon and yet even twitchcon is not safe for the members of the G.R.L

Considering going to either MoneroTopia or MoneroKon next year; I don't think I'll be able to do both. Which would you guys recommend?
@ancap_objectivist I have never been to Monerokon, although I know it is the more technical of the two. I am really hoping I can go next year.
I've been to Monerotopia three times. I went the first year in Miami and I've been twice in Mexico City. It's a great time, mostly because you can hang out with fellow Monero chads and I really love Mexico City (incredible food, amazing people). Regarding the presentations, Doug does allow a lot of grifters to speak, and this year he had literally 4 days of talks which was way too much. That being said, there is still great content and many smart minds congregating there so one moment I am talking to Articmine, the next Jeffro, and then I'm getting wasted with Riccardo (Paranoia Machinery). Another benefit of Monerotopia is Doug puts in a ton of effort into having a market there, so you can buy food or clothes from locals in Monero. Super easy to do. The presentation dome is simple but it does the job.
I suppose it comes down to a matter of preference. If you are someone who really just wants to see talks, then Monerokon 100%. Overall it is a smarter/nerdier vibe. If you want to just socialize, both are great for this. If you want to visit Mexico City, then you should absolutely check out Monerotopia.
NACK for this. I wished them good luck with all their endeavors and dipped from #monerokon, while blocking most of that cohort in socials. =]
Hopefully a different MononoKon will be started elsewhere, by different people. My positions were well voiced, or implied, both in the now closed Monero meta GitHub issue and #monerokon:monero.social (#monerokon on libera.chat (or OTFC? Unsure about the networks now... on IRC.)
Let's see if eventually the for-profit and troublemaker mosquitoes go away, too. ^_^
