Monero beginner xmr

I recently downloaded Monero GUI wallet and i was just wondering where to get started from. Whats my goal? what do i need? what do i do?
I know nothing about cryptocurrency. I'm not here to profit off suggestions.

Monero wallet is likely to be very secure and reliable; its the official open source and publicly audited wallet for this multi billion dollar asset. Just make sure you have the right one .(You should compare hashes with multiple public and reputable sources as best practice)

Whether or not your funds are safe depends primarily on how you handle your private keys and seed phrase, which is a whoooole kettle of fish. The gold standard is airgapped transaction signing, for which you might would need feather wallet, which is another well loved reputable open source wallet.

@Bukkit Don't fall into the 'get rich' trap. You will lose your soul. The whole point of them is to use them, especially XMR. Its money, use it as such. Save some if you want, but the whole point is to use it IMHO.
