Looks like everything is down today including Monero and it's a good time to buy :)

Yessir! I am trying to determine which trading session — Sydney, Tokyo, London, or New York — is the most opportunistic time to buy the dip.

tfw you can't take advantage cause you can't figure out how to buy without your bank or card knowing

cash by mail is pretty awesome tbh
banking system always have arbitrary amount limits or whatever, such a headache
on haveno (eu side) there is usually at least an offer up that buys monero with cash by mail at 10% under market price which is a big premium
but it covers the risks on the fiat side if there is issues with mailing system or somethin
so like, could withdraw cash at the ATM and place an offer for cash by mail on Haveno
like if you do at 8% premium instead of 10%, then that's literally free money for you
some guides regarding proper practices on that:
https://arnoldnakamura.codeberg.page/how-to-use-haveno/
https://arnoldnakamura.codeberg.page/cash-by-mail/
or if it seems like too much a hassle
bank transfers are working on Haveno too, it's Peer to Peer
so from bank side, they'll see it as a transaction between 2 individuals, not as a "crypto purchase" thing
like if buying some random things off craigslist type thing
currently there is 2 haveno network:

yeah cash by mail is what I wanna do, I also am curious as to whether anyone accepts USPS money order, why or why not (since those are made to be mailed. it's a way a forum I know accepts payments and I'm curious as to how others see them)
I think I'm a little paranoid about bank transfers, where i am (not eu) bank transfers are more difficult than how easy SWIFT/ SEPA is eu side (yes I am jealous)
I worry about using wise and getting my acc closed if the seller account is marked as sus, and I'm guilty by association
and then i don't have common p2p apps like venmo, cashapp, pp, and I'd worry for the same reason on those too.
my fave idea was buying gift cards with cash and flipping them for monero but (understandably) it's not super popular (and usually comes with a 10-30% fee?)
sorry for word vomit, I'm somewhat trapped in my own paranoia about things

right and been thinking it could be the same with bank accounts too
havent came across someone that had issue with it yet but i guess it could still happen
so that's upside of cash by mail, no accounts at risk to be closed :3

as someone that do buy some giftcards, with those i always felt more confident using things like bitrefill, coincards or directly from cakewallet and now xmr.cards than i would from buying those P2P
and i guess the 10-30% premium fee makes senses on the P2P side since there is risks with those of not even working or things like that
like, paypal has lots of risks to be scammed with payment being reverted
giftcards can be bought and claimed then saying it didnt work (while it did)
those are some more at risks type of payments so they come with a premium i guess
but idk, seems like both the bank account trades and cash by mail trades been pretty smooth since haveno came out
on localmonero there was also the "cash from ATM" thing, like, the monero buyer would give an ATM code to the monero seller, allowing them to withdraw cash with just a code
couldnt find if it was even a thing where am at tho, but people were saying it was popular in latin america
so yea idk, would just recommend to try the popular options currently used within haveno with what you have available so would be bank transfer and cash by mail
the first trade is the one that's a bit tough to get through for newcomers cause gotta set up the thing once
but then 2nd trades and after are going smoothly tbh
so is really just get that first step it, that first trade, if u need to overthink it that's fine, just do get that 1 trade eventually tho, and you'll see it was alot of overthinking and overworrying while the thing just works u know :P
@admin it needs time thought, beside the war was still happening here.
@comfy I appreciate the guide links and encouragement, I'm gonna work on getting my first trade done (or at least mailed, lol)
Interesting stuff in the retoswap signal group tho, apparently some kinda DOSing is happening from a seller to other sellers trying to stop them from taking offers. crazy stuff

oh wut wtf :O
i dont have signal but that do sound like some actual craziness :O

hey cheers :3
btw, just as general opsec tip type thing, timestamps analysis be a thing and whatnot, monero do have some adversaries [...]
so i wouldnt recommend posting specific dates like "gonna do this trade at this time on that day"
i hope the trades goes well tho, and also depending on which region and the type of payment, offers might take awhile before a buyer/seller matches (like minutes if super lucky, days if super unlucky lol)
and since price just went down, there might be less sellers willing to sell at those prices
(and also adding the premium from cash by mail, finding a monero seller to sell during a price dump with an other 8-10% under market price, that might be tough to get an actual trade in a timely manner under those circumstances)
so yea, in case you cant find a match around the date you trying to get it done, i hope it wont discourage you to still get that first trade in eventually

Y'know I kinda didn't even consider that people might wanna sell less when the price is lower, cause I want to buy, but to buy I need people to sell, and oh why would sellers wanna lose if they bought at a higher price- dang economics
I'll get smarter someday
