Is Monero a better fit for accepting donations in an anonymous network than BTC?

I heard that Monero is the safest XMR wallet so it's best for you to accept Monero (XMR).

Monero is better and more secure than Bitcoin by design so it's better to use XMR to accept donation. People also won't know how much you receive if you don't want to reveal the information, different from Bitcoin where people can just look at the blockchain history and see how much you have in your pocket.

You must heard it, Monero is delisted to most of Central Exchange. The reason because the government have a really hard time to track Monero. It is possible but it require enormous effort to focus on a single individual, now imagine if we all using it. It just economically impossible to track all of us with our transaction.

So it's really good choice and the most appropriate for protecting us the normal people that want to have decent privacy. You also can take it to a whole new level with Monero security but it just depend on your adversary really.

@Bukkit I run an i2p forum. Because I've been spending money to renew and operate the server all by myself, it's been exhausting. So, I'm planning to add a Monero address to my forum for donations.

xmr: fast, cheap transactions, fully private, not on CEX
doge: fast, cheap transactions, on CEX, not private at all
btc: slow, expensive, on CEX, not private at all.
You could accept doge tips and use them to buy xmr, which would break paper trail, but it depends on your threat model.

I would suggest supporting both, and just add some text on the page saying you prefer Monero, then maybe rotate the BTC address at intervals, or use something that creates fresh addresses for each transaction.

If you're wanting donations or more business, sometimes it's better to make a compromise in order to make it easier for others to give, that's why I support BTC and LTC too even if I don't prefer it.

My i2p forum primarily focuses on Chinese-language LGBT content, everyday chat, and technical sharing. However, recently, several Chinese forums on the Tor network appear to be honeypots, and because my forum address was being recommended to those honeypot forums, my server seems to have been attacked by a botnet. Therefore, I've moved from Tor to i2p. Also, due to increased maintenance costs and the need to strengthen OPSEC for server payments, I'm worried that some of my users donating BTC to my service might expose them. I'm currently considering which cryptocurrency is most suitable.

@fantuan if you want approach like me.... i just recently making sites and the engine for donation and payment. the method we using was multi coin approach with swap in the end of the day
coin was monero, litecoin, and bitcoin

cons was the people who want to send money can be tracked sent to us... but from us it stop right there, since next steps was going trough SOME swapper. so it should be anon after it

we now thinking possibility like making new addr everytime or new seed after 1 month, but it seems little to no effect since people can still link it from one to another. but that's the approach so far if you want to use other than monero

but for monero itself
it should be good :D no approach needed for monero, just setup on server. and done
