Hello, for the last 4 years Monerica.com has been working to aggregate all of the (legal) Monero accepting businesses, services, tools, non-profits, guides and other resources.

In the last 6 months or so, more features have been added such as search, filter, reviews, and creating YouTube content showing how to actually use Monero.

We are currently sponsoring this forum because we see it as potentially the best Monero forum and place people may turn to for Monero discussion.

We run X.com polls to help guide us on some features. But, people there are pretty quiet and don't often comment much. So, this thread is where you can voice any opinions you have on what you think is missing on Monerica.com to make it even better.

Thank you.

I think you should find a way to get a lot more customer feedback. On this forum, when you reply to a thread by redirecting people to your website, I don’t think it really helps the original poster. The idea of exchanging on a forum is to get firsthand experiences, whether positive or negative.

Browsing Monerica at the moment, for a service that already has a lot of existing business, we mainly see a list of links with short descriptions. Checking their homepages is time-consuming. That’s already huge in itself, but adding real feedback would take the project to another level.

I’m making this suggestion humbly because I’m aware that it’s not an easy task.

Yes, that has been an important objective recently. We are getting several reviews a day now.

You can filter by highest rating but are you implying you want to be able to sort by most/least reviewed?

There is also a Monerica YouTube channel which goes into detail on purchasing and using different services.

Filtering by the highest rating is ineffective, as only one review can give you 5 stars. Meanwhile, a truly worthwhile project with 20 good reviews and one average review won't achieve the maximum rating, even though it would be objectively a thousand times better.

Also, you should add instructions for beginners on using PGP (perhaps an online alternative to Kleopatra).

Understood, there can be a weighted average. (edit: it's live now with "Bayesian Score" for the average so the more reviews help)

There's a video that shows how to use Kleopatra now. It wasn't there at first, but it's been there a few weeks. Because yes, that is confusing!

We also are considering some kind of way to get more reviews, such as a drawing but this is still being determined.

Removed listings shouldn't be completely purged from the site, they should be moved to a different category marked as "Archived". Like kycnot.me does.

They do still exist but you have to search for them on the page where you edit an existing ones. So, for example if an exchange goes offline but it came back with a different domain, it can still be searched for and found then updated to the new domain without losing all the ratings, etc.

Is there a specific scenario that requires more than that?

Before transferring the site to the archive, you should have checked all domains (including onion), and not just clearnet. The site you are probably talking about continued to work in Tor, but their temporary web domains became unavailable, and the lion's share of Monero users use Tor mainly for surfing payment-related sites.

By the way, since I'm here, you can verify BitList)) https://monerica.com/site/bitlist That would be wonderful.

Ok, it'll check the onion links next time around. But other domain varients are too infrequent to build around right now.

Ok, it's removed. Links are checked weekly but that one just went offline in a day.
