Kraken was one of the only exchanges that still listed XMR, the only one with a solid reputation. Supposedly, they are implimenting new limits on XMR deposits and withdrawals, effective today. They are limiting withdrawals to $1500 USD and deposits to $3500 USD. I don't know how it effects exchanging to altcoins. I can't test, I took all my stuff off Kraken a while ago.

I don't get how these limits are a problem. You can just buy some other coin and then swap it to Monero or if you are running a business and want to cash out, you can just swap Monero into another coin and then sell it on Kraken. Although, given the current trajectory, I can guarantee that even Kraken will ban Monero for good. Worse yet, I'm also betting on Monero getting criminalized entirely by more countries in the not–so–distant future.

@Yuzuki the limits are a problem because having to swap to another coin means

  1. more fees
  2. deanonymizes withdrawal address

@bulletbill22 Yes, you will pay more in fees, however, pertaining to the withdrawal address, you can just create a one time wallet for each withdrawal. Besides the CEX knows your withdrawal address either way regardless whether you are using Monero or a different coin.
