It's pretty cool to see crypto being used for legitimate things like bypassing sanctions but it would have been so much better if they used Monero so the transactions couldn't be traced.

Actually I think the official Iranian guy said "Bitcoin". But idk. maybe it's the only thing that's not fiatcoin with enough liquidity and availability? As I heard they are mining btc, for a long time now.
But they will try other things. Iran Defense Company accepts Monero for Weapons & spies "payed by online wallet" lol. Maybe they already use xmr to pay for spies
