monero freelance guide tutorial

DISCLAIMER: Using KYC service put your personal safety at risk by entrusting your personal information toward third party. Proceed with caution.

So you're new to the crypto space. You realize that you can actually earn money or buy goods and services without paypal being a pain in your ass. And in your research you found out Monero got delisted by almost everyone. Bummer. But rest assured as our community is not lacking in resource and creativity. There are multiple easy way to get and sell your Monero.

How to get Monero

There are two way you can get Monero. Buy it through Centralized Exchange (CEX) or by going through P2P (finding people that willing to sell their monero for your FIAT money).

There's pros and cons to each but if you're new here I advice you to just go buy it through Central Exchange to avoid getting scammed.

There also another method to buy Monero albeit it take more length to accomplish which is using Swap Service. Using Swap Service you don't need to worry about Monero getting delisted. Just buy cheap coin on any CEX and go to Swap Aggregators to get the best deal to find your Monero. What's good from this method is that you're not limited in option with where you can buy crypto from. Just buy Litecoin or USDT from any Central Exchange and swap it for Monero.

The Workflow:

Buy any Crypto from CEX --> Go to trusted Swap Aggregators --> Swap your existing coin to Monero

My Personally Trusted Swap Aggregators Choice (not sponsored)

This guide is for people that just joined the crypto space that need security first and foremost to avoid scammers. If you prioritize no KYC then you should only go with P2P route but the research responsibility will fallen on yourself to avoid getting scammed.

NOTE: if you want to sell your monero to buy groceries or anything that need FIAT you can just reverse the step.

not recommending kraken

they been sus since the change of CEO
and even the previous CEO anyways, he forgot his roots so fuck him
he used to be a big importer for videogaming items: https://d2legit.com (which now just redirects to kraken)
like, before building kraken, he was making bank on the markets like https://d2jsp.org which is actually P2P trades
but nah, he chose to centralized that shit, be a mt. gox wannabe bullshit and contributed to ruining the cryptospace instead of contributing to the actual P2P circular economy

and now they just collecting those IDs, driver licenses, blood samples, colonoscopy scans and shits, fuck them

now there's Haveno, BISQ... which are actually P2P
OP mentioning "scams" but like, haveno has a security deposit thing, those monero are held in a 2/3 multisig
multicig

if people are able to P2P trade videogaming items for internet currency on d2jsp...
then newcomers should be able to P2P trade monero on haveno too, that's literally the same thing

can't wait till the day monero is delisted from ALL the centralized exchanges everywhere, fuck them, they dont belong anyways

and remember... if you send that KYC info to some kraken, mt. gox, coinbase or shit like that, then that KYC info now is out there for those centralized exchanges to sell you out to the highest bidder, like coinbase did:
https://www.mollywhite.net/micro/entry/202505211606
literally their customer service sold their customers info including home addresses and shits

anyways, on P2P trades, the most recommended to buy is through Cash By Mail
if your grandma can do it for xmas then u can do it too

here's a guide from a trusted cash by mail provider:
https://arnoldnakamura.codeberg.page/cash-by-mail/

can get like a cheap vacuum sealer thing off of amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Bonsenkitchen-Vacuum-Sealer-Machine-Multiple/dp/B0D91CQ69R/
vacuum-sealer

so pretty much:

  • vacuum seal the cash thing
  • wrap the sealed cash in foil
  • put it between sheets of papers then in the envelope thing then to the post office

and if the other way around, can do PO box, delivered at post office or things like that too without giving actual home address

but if too lazy for that, still, instead of using bullshit centralized exchanges, then Haveno also supports bank transfers, so like... if doing the bank thing then it works over there too, don't need to register on some bullshit CEX and putting at risk those very sensitive data to entities that have been documented over and over again to be rotten to the core

TLDR for "newcomers":

  • if ur grandma can send you money on xmas through the postal service, then you can do it too
  • if retarded videogamers are able to trade P2P for decades for their internet money then you can do it too

centralized exchanges should never have been a thing in the first place and should be avoided from the start

also... did you know that when bitcoin only had 11M bitcoin in circulation, Mt. Gox was holding 9.5M of these? fuck centralization

@sepia dont worry about the haveno 250x250 thing, figured something with gimp in couple minutes, all good 👍

Retoswap (formerly haveno-reto) is the best way to buy XMR online. Kraken is introducing new withdrawal and deposit limits on XMR.

@GamingResearchLab the only downside for retoswap is just we need to had "big" amount before use it. it good on long term for like.... exchanging every X of period, but for small ones, i think its good to use some well known swapper.

not enough ppl yeet on haveno for smaller amount, suddenly remembering localmonero was the peak gold time back then. hopefully retoswap will follow soon :D

@UsualCat
yea unfortunately the "no security deposit offers" seems a bit of a pain to onboard without any monero beforehand but at least it's something
https://github.com/haveno-dex/haveno/issues/1464

and regarding swappers, if refering to things like trocador / cyphergoat, they're not onramp/offramp but to swap cryptocoins while haveno is an actual fiat onramp/offramp, they solve different issues

but yea, more small amounts offers on haveno would be nice, like cash by mail it been mostly 3 fiat digits minimum, bank transfers seen a few in the 2 fiat digits so that's good there but yea, more adoption overall there would be nice tbh

@GamingResearchLab yeah, ppl need really thinking about transaction in small amount. back then before i know monero. i was "regular" user for btc and litecoin. btc for "keeping the money" and litecoin for transaction and weekly purchase or general moving the money. when monero come, its wild game changer, everything cheaper, yeet valued more. secure and anon.

only issue with monero was
10 Block lock

other than that. its perfect.... back then we can just swap little to nothing amount with localmonero.
now... its hard (hopefully not for so long)

@GamingResearchLab Thanks for sharing the history and the risk of KYC, I forgot to add it yesterday. I do agree that P2P is the best method but I'm taking the perspective of a person that want to test the water and don't want to get himself bitten by the shark. They probably just want to get a small amount to know the experience of using Monero and as @UsualCat pointed out, there's almost no offer for small amount exchange in Retoswap. And I don't have that much money so I never try it myself, hence I didn't write it on my post. My ultimate goal is to find the path of least resistance for people to use Monero and we can work up from there.

Nice to hear you can made it in Gimp.
