So apparently freenet has had a lot of changes. I noticed this slashdot article https://tech.slashdot.org/story/26/08/11/2030205/freenet-creator-ian-clarke-shares-progress-on-its-new-decentralized-network which has cool video presentation linked and so i installed to check it out.

I havn't really explored properly yet. There is a chat and a reddit style board and other things that is listed on "atlas".
Seems pretty cool so far. The main thing is a daemon (written in rust) and you interact with your web browser.

On linux, Looks like everything is installed into your local users home folder. And the install is a curl command :(
Have to keep my eye on this and see how it develops.

faq here https://freenet.org/about/faq/
I'm gonna read that now :) I wonder how much a priority privacy is.

AI coding tools are, however, used extensively in Freenet’s development. They allow a small team to implement, review, and iterate much more quickly than would otherwise be possible.

And what the fuck even is its purpose?

Freenet is a peer-to-peer platform for apps that no company controls. Your computer becomes part of a global network, and the apps running on it can’t be taken down, don’t track you, and need no servers behind them.

The fuck is this shit? Everything being turned into a SimpleX clone now?

Certified garbage.

Ai SLop? dont know i Just got here :)
The guy spearheading the new version is the original creator from many years ago. The small amount of coding i do i keep having to refer to tutorials and examples. AI can be used in the same way. I dont think experienced coders are prompt coding, but using AI as a tool. Zed editor and other IDEs with heavy AI integration i need to start looking into.
If this project can get people a website without paying a registrar and be censorship resistance that is awesome.

@box3d They're normies. That alone is enough to discredit them.
