Besides, even if you 'own' a domain its still stored on ICANN centralized database so really ICANN owns it. Not your keys, not your domain. That's why I prefer an ens linktree as a backup plan in case something goes wrong.

agree, but the point was they can't just ditch your domain because they doesn't like it. they should go trough legal things to get there, thats why people using domain that handled by non USA, like .ru etc, because of anything happen it will like... icann > registrar > you > registrar > icann
icann can't almost in most of the time doing what they're doing

you can see it by just see the palestinian and iranian sites or even russian ones still alive and untouch by it. so be wise to choosing domain provider/registrar
