Yesterday, Near Intents was exploited of $3.8 million.
Today, they announced that the entire amount was paid in full with a message from the hacker. The message reads: "We've returned all the funds, we were in the wrong. Thank you to the Near team for being respectful, constructive, and cordial during the return process. Remember to always use bug bounties!"
I gotta be honest, this seems extremely fake. The response and the quick timing of everything is absolutely bizarre. When is the last time a hacker used the word "cordial"? Why would a hacker even be this nice instead of going through their bug bounty program? Why would they be so ignorant of basic chain analysis?

Well... They got attention that's for sure. Whether it is fake and whether they did for that reason is purely up for speculation. It is odd though. Definitely makes you go hmm 🤔 😉

Edit:

Well, apparently the stolen funds were moved to KuCoin and then bridged into Bitcoin in order to "obscure the transactions."

If you're going to steal $3.8 million and then try to make it harder to trace, maybe don't move it onto the world's most transparent financial ledger.

Monero was sitting there like:
“You guys want me to explain this again?” 😂

When I am still, the world moves with me.
