There are lot of Debankings recently, and especially in Germany.

Also many pro-palestine and UN people are experiencing troubles and I think as these people are desperate for help:

We should adopt the narrative more effectively and especially try to act practically by offering support, trainings etc. Sadly the only way to reach them would be over Twitter I suppose.

Maybe we can create a SimpleX group or smt. to discuss this topic or maybe talk on how we can respond to this opportunity at some point. Maybe mass emailing alternative newsoutlets could work as well?

Happy to hear thoughts on this and where you see potential for us as a community to 'surf the wave' and gain adoption more rapidly.

Cheers

Highly support this notion of helping those who've been wronged and blacklisted by governments unjustly (ESPECIALLY when said governments do it while moonlighting for the inhuman regime in question here).

To add to your proposals, maybe set up a website that can act as a knowledge base for these debanked people ? it can be linked and shared on the Xitters and wherever these people usually visit.

It's an interesting concept and probably one of the most natural ways to onboard people. Some sort of onboarding process in which they can get access to things then use prepaid cards to access what they were used to.

@esna7 Unfortunately, when (governments) force you to use banks and you speak the truth or express opinions against what they want, such "incidents" start happening more frequently. They are slowly but surely establishing the order described in the 1984 novel...George Orwell was right.

@monerica I think it would be cool if we had a website/consultancy specifically tailored to helping people survive debanking.

Helping you set up an email, xmr wallet etc., prepaid cards etc.?

I don't think it needs to be anything new necissarily, but just something we can send people -> monerica.com/first-aid or smt.

It's probably not the most effective onramp in terms of quantity but it's an example for how the monero ecosystem can handle more than selling your old bike on xmrbazaar.com but helping people resist the full force of outlashing repression.

@monerica in the future we can do an insurance DAO on darkfi or similar where high risk individuals can pay and if they get debanked they receive money and help without limits

On the Monerica YouTube there are some videos like: How to live off Monero & Best prepaid cards. But a full bootcamp/ bootstrapping to become a Monero citizen or Monerican or something is an interesting idea.

We are working with a company which is trying to release a privacy focused laptop which can be bought with Monero. That's all a part of the Monero-first way.

@monerica That's awesome!

I watched videos from your yt, channel before. Very helpful.

I was thinking more in terms of repackaging your existing website. Like idk. a new twitter and website called resist-debank.com where you can link websites you already have in your directory, so nothing 'new' but people can easily share the resist-debank.com website beyond monero circles because it's general (stickers etc.).

Similar to the resist CBDC accout, but you can onboard people to monero not because we are a MONERO COMMUNITY trying to 'grab'/'capture'/'convince' them but just because monero is the best tool.

Similar to brands selling a cheap version of their product under a new name with maybe even the same ingredients, but more people buy it because it's more accessible etc.

You see what I am trying to say? It does not need to be smt. new, just a seperate website that speaks to a possibly bigger audience. We could do the same for other topics as well, like

xmrbazaar -> buy-local.com (oops, but ya need to pay with xmr cuz.... it's useful)
family-abroad.com: support your family abroad, without limits (ooops, it can only be done with xmr)
kuno -> community-help.com
https://app.monerica.com/search?q=porn -> porn-privately.com (doesn't exist yet, but look you can buy pornhub premium with XMR) btw. this VIP escort service lists monero as accepted: https://natural-escort.de/escort-mit-bitcoin-bezahlen/#:~:text=Litecoin-,Monero,-Neo

Then I personally think we should start making ads, to get the public in. Maybe doing like real world paper ads will create more credibility and be cheaper?

I think only these two strategic shifts, would increase usage of Monero by a lot in the short - mid term.

What do you think?

It's very time consuming to build new sites and brands. Generally it's better to just try to make Monerica bigger than split it off.

Video content (by anyone for that matter) is probably the best way to educate people.

Not interested in listing escorts, that goes too far.

@monerica I see.

I didn't want to push / pressure you or anything. It's always easier to have an idea than to actually build something.

You are doing a great job, thank you for your work <3
