I'm saying it now in the next couple months Cloudflare will implement age verification for all websites using it as another way for the government to mass collect data on people.

@letscome Bunnycdn? Not free but it never was free with cloudflare either as you paid the price by allowing your users to be profiled and tracked, certainly not something a privacy site should be using. Not to mention that everyone using cloudflare is very harmful for decentralisation of the internet.

You don't really need cloudflare either, any good datacentre or host will offer DDoS protection that usually isn't cloudflare.

I dislike cloudflare because they did my boy Josh dirty during dropkf. Crazy how a content delivery service became a monopoly on protecting websites from being taken down by a kid with cash sending dos/ ddos attacks.

but as to your topic OP, I think it makes sense business wise.

Cloudfkare Offering a service where it takes on the age verification for websites for a fee (either subscription or however they'll do it) would be tempting as a site owner who doesn't want the legal hassle. plus as a giant company they can worry about being complaint with diff country or state standards, . keeping in mind I think this is all surveillance state bullshit. soon every country is gonna be emulating China, real ID verification for all accounts everywhere!

so I'd back your bet OP. just like how all the social media sites are using third party age verification services (persona is the example at the top of my mind), cloudflare could do that for smaller websites. though , maybe it would trigger more people to go 'I'll just shut down' or ask 'how can I make a website ungovernable by dumb laws'...

Do you have any sources of information? How will they implement this? Will we have to fill in our birth dates in addition to CAPTCHA to continue accessing the website in the future?

@Kodomu I agree! Personally I hate it when sites are using this Cloudflare thing to so-called "human verification"! They are using it everywhere and for everything..even when it is not needed at all,all b*llshit!

@Orhan7 Yes, turnstile is getting very annoying, especially the captchas. It profiles your browser too so it can tell if your user agent doesn't match the browser you are using. It also punishes VPN users.

The only thing I can give cloudflare is at least they aren't using google's captcha, because that's easily one of the most obnoxious ones to complete.

@Kodomu True. Speaking about punishing VPN users, they shouldn't do that as more and more people are using such services...especially to by pass governments restrictions,censorships,etc...but also to keep some level of privacy, not much but better than nothing, right?
