damn, yeah...
i remember telling my grandma about it literally back in 2015 already, since driving for her was starting to get troublesome already
and yet here we are in 2026, still no "fully autonomous" type thing, i mean, there's been alot of progress there but also bad shits do happen still...
with like cars going full speed mode and crashing because of some short-circuit type thing after rainy day or somethin...
or the opposite, just stopping for no reason and causing crashes...
i guess sure, numbers are like it seems to still be better than dumb drivers but like... jfc, literally giving the trust of your own and others lifes to autonomous tech, kinda fucked up there :/

tbh havent really followed along on the past years where it actually went, i just dont like cars, we got legs, doggos like using their legs too lol

and while you saying is not related to monero, i mean, it could
doordash, uber drivers and all, how cool would that be if could get paid in monero on all of that u know...
now that would be what's up lol
well, ofc it would still be "regulation this and regulation that" and then businesses would be like "wdym u tryna evade taxes with that monero thing or somethin?"
but fuck.. that would be so cool if some day, people could literally just get paid in monero for jobs like these, prob not gonna happen ever tho :/

I figure full self driving won't happen until there's an EMP that resets all of humanity's tech, and gives the self driving group a chance to begin work on a world where only self driving capable cars are allowed on the road, and able to communicate with one another

but the current state of them is just really sad, and I'd never get into a self driving car personally.
not to mention Tesla's crashing and trapping its passengers to burn to death, Waymo's are driven by Filipinos (love their food, but pls don't be remotely driving my car)

but hehe, any headline claiming a tech will destroy jobs and reshape the economy, should be kept safe in a box and taken out to laugh at after a decade

@nolan It actually is related to privacy. Each Tesla is equipped with 9 cameras, including one pointed at the driver. All 9 are rolling constantly when the car is being driven, and the videos and driving data (recorded every 0.1 seconds) are kept in Tesla's servers forever. Additionally, if the owner has the Tesla in Sentry Mode, it will record whenever it senses anything or anyone near it while parked. Hope and pray your auto insurance comany never gets a hold of the data.

Seconding @ksilverstein that this is a privacy issue (and not an economic one).

The role of an economy is to distribute scarce resources efficiently (labor time, in this case). Supposing that they do replace millions of driving jobs, that just frees up those people's time to do other productive things in the economy instead of driving all day.
