We always seem to find those people who say that crypto has no use, that even if it has a use it's all crime, "if I can't buy groceries with it, it's useless to me".

I can't understand the cognitive dissonance that makes people kiss the boot of their fiat masters like this. I've been able to convince some of them by making them aware of https://xmrbazaar.com/ and the broader https://monero.eco/ ecosystem, but some of them are too far up their own ass. I'm very curious to understand what the psychological defense mechanism is that results in these types of behaviors. Have these people dealt with a bank before in their lives? Got their fiat frozen? Had to wait several days for a transfer? It's incomprehensible to me how you can continue to be a slave to fiat after all of that.

@monerica Your youtube channel is really great source of learning. I don't understand why it never got traction. I learn alot about Monero ecosystem because of you. Thank you.

@sepia Thank you! The problem is that the content is too scattered and intimidating. Many videos were made on an array of topics from using Monero to guides. Everything has to be super niche focused these days to stand out. Monerica YouTube is somewhat unpredictable in terms of is it a product review, a guide or something completely different.

It's actually best to just copy the Bitcoiners in this way. They have books which are as much about the history of money and fiat as they are about Bitcoin. People interested in Monero generally already know about the history of money and Bitcoin but the average person really needs a full series, assuming nothing about money, finance, privacy or crypto. In doing so, people can jump to whatever they feel comfortable but know that by starting from the beginning, they could can advance to buying, selling, sending, storing and living off Monero.

Without going through the whole thread, my take is that there are 2 angles here to cover: First, crypto as a concept, then Monero itself.

For the first part, I think it's important to reaffirm those with "anti crypto psychosis" that theyre 100% in the right here. Crypto outside of Monero is largely a scam, so a quick rundown of the history and how things went to shit is essential as a start.

Onto XMR, like a few have said already, there's no point forcing it down people's throats randomly. My personal approach is simple awareness of its existence done exclusively on friends and family who show curiosity. I've said before on this forum that Monero doesn't come to you; you come to Monero. Be it surveillance, inflation, debanking etc. There will be time where jumping into Monero starts being more than an interesting concept and rather a pragmatic reality, and maybe even a necessity for some. So, I say we don't really need to do more than just passive awareness, so that Monero is known to people for the offchance they require making use of what it has to offer in the future.
