We are likely in the transitionary phase. The question is what happens next?
Total FIAT debasement , pensions worthless and companies bought up with massive debts on their books for cheap? Or something a little less strong , just debasement and real wages decreasing?
My only concern with Monero at this moment - what's the usage in China ?
xau & xmr seems a good bet for those in the West to weather this, with something left.

Unless someone finds a better way to privately, instantly and trustlessly send $50M to the other side of the world, then monero will find users. So China are apparently the kingpins of flying money, but it'd be hard to force people to use that forever when there's now another option. That being said who knows whether monero will capture enough value to be profitable for investors and miners. Its a risky bet, but probably a good one. Gold on the other hand is safer but also less safe it its get stolen or taxed.
I think there will be more proxy war between the West and East over the coming years and that will be how wealth is transferred to the new system. My fear is that it will evolve into a total biological war if it hasn't already. That way we'll be much more under control next time and easier to mine for fiat / disease as currency.
That being said, I'm still bullish in US stocks because even though the empire is in decline, it could still be productive for its shareholders for decades to come. Defining 'long term' and 'short term' is surely the investors greatest challenge.
