When I try to run the installer I get this error what do I do? I disabled the anti virus but nope

Windows usually says Monero is a virus because it has the mining software included, but who knows, you could also have downloaded an actual virus thing too
to make sure is indeed not a virus but just “mining software”, you can check on virustotal:

if is literally just because of the mining part of the code in the software it will usually say somethin like “coinminer” or something like that
Which is not a worry because in that case, you’re the one in control of the mining software
So in that case, could just make an “exception” in the antivirus thing for it and try again (sometimes the antivirus even just completely deletes the monero thing as a whole)
or just get rid of the actual virus (aka Windows) and move over to linux instead
linux is pretty userfriendly nowadays that even the youtuber “pewdiepie” with over 100M+ subscriber on youtube is even on linux nowadays
and he used to play videogames so like, Windows literally has no reason to be in 2026, even for videogamers, just move to linux already u know

i flagged my own post that was a reply to yours after u posted a scammy looking fundraising thing, gave it the benefit of the doubt
and still replied that i couldnt verify the legitimacy of it but if i could, would rather donate to things that are directly related to monero
but your reply was a red flag anyways, now the whole “send me an email” thing…
public forums, unlike shady emails scams do allow for others to get the answer they’re looking for if they run into the same issue

I’ve banned Dowman they are obviously a scammer. They were also spamming links to their fund raiser.
